Экспозиция музея разбита на 2 зала. Первый зал – это история завода, как предприятия народного художественного промысла Гжель. В нем показан большой ассортимент выпускаемой продукции, представлена портретная галерея скульпторов и художников, принесших славу заводу за свою 25-летную историю! Предприятие, построенное на месте пустыря, не только облагородило территорию, но и выпускает экологически чистую продукцию, сертифицированную по всем стандартам.

Второй зал рассказывает об истории Гжельской земли и в частности об истории развития Гжельского промысла. Гончарное производство существовало на нашей земле еще с XIV века. Рецепт русского фарфора на основе гжельских глин в 1745г. был разработан впервые в России русским ученым Виноградовым Д.И., сподвижником и современником М.В. Ломоносова. А уже в 1803 году фарфоровое производство пришло на Гжельскую землю. Во дворах стали открываться маленькие заводики с небольшим горном, выпускающие изделия со своим личным клеймом. Дальнейшее развитие промысла привело к тому, что фарфоровые изделия стали выпускаться с росписью в один цвет – синей подглазурной краской, наносимой кистью. И это сделало Гжельский фарфор узнаваемым во всем мире!

Славу Гжельской земле создают не только изделия, но и люди. В музее рассказывается о тех, кто внес ощутимый вклад в историю промысла, развитие промышленности на нашей земле. Своим новым рождением в 1940-х годах Гжельский промысел обязан ученому искусствоведу А.Б. Салтыкову, художнице Н. И. Бессарабовой, Т. С. Дунашовой. Есть у нас свои поэты, писатели. О них тоже свой рассказ.

Гжельская земля – это не только глина и фарфор, это сама земля, это природа, что нас окружает. В музее рассказывается о таких интересных местах, как Гжельский стратотип, природный срез земли, которому насчитывается тысячи лет. И который, относится к меловому периоду. Есть рассказ и об уникальной орхидее, Венерин башмачок, которая произрастает в лесу возле д.Коняшино и цветет раз в 17 лет.

Музей познакомит с изделиями других заводов, таких как Кузяевский фарфоровый завод, ЗАО «Объединение Гжель», ОАО «Электроизолятор» и др., и расскажет об их истории развития.
